Reflection on 2013

I promise, PROMISE I’m going to post something about Christmas tomorrow.  But, seeing as how it’s New Year’s Eve, I thought a reflection on the year (as well as the month of blogging) would be more apropos.

Looking at the year…

I was struck by the thought today that my life has been taken over by my child.  While this isn’t really news (and, really, isn’t it the same for all parents everywhere?), I found the fact staring me in the face with Facebook’s new “Take A Look At All The Important Moments Of Your Year” thing that it rolled out today.  Nearly every picture and post had something to do with Little Man.

And, oddly, I’m perfectly okay with that.  I’ve wanted to be a mom for so long, that the fact that my life focuses on my son right now is okay.  I mean, yes, I have other things going on in my life — a husband, a job outside of our home, my faith, friends — but, it’s okay for it to revolve around Little Man right now.  As he grows and (hopefully) our family expands, that will change.  And that will be okay too.

Looking at the month…

I know that I said I was going to post every day.  It clearly didn’t happen.  But, I’m going to stick with it as much as I can.  I enjoy taking some time to write at the end of the day and I like that.
